Stakeholders

Who has a stake in Thailand’s quantum economy, and where a university centre sits among them.

Quantum technology is one of the second-wave S-curve industries in Thailand’s economic strategy, following the Bio-Circular-Green economy. That places a university research centre inside a much larger structure of funders, regulators, industry and education — and makes it worth being explicit about who does what.

Policy & funding
Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI); the Eastern Economic Corridor Office; the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission.
Research base
University centres and institutes — including CEQT and RCQT at Chiang Mai University — together with national laboratories and metrology institutes.
Industry
Electronics and instrumentation manufacturers, software and services firms, defence and aerospace, finance, energy and logistics operators.
Spin-offs & SMEs
Companies commercialising instrumentation and components developed in the research base.
Education
Graduate programmes, short courses and the schools pipeline — the binding constraint on everything else.
International
Partner universities and institutes, hardware providers, and multilateral programmes.

Where CEQT sits

We are in the research base, and our particular contribution is the computational layer: algorithms, simulation and software. We are not a manufacturer and not a consultancy. Where a stakeholder needs instrumentation, the answer is RCQT or one of the spin-offs; where they need a problem formulated and solved, it is us.
